Akira Kuroki (黒木 旭) (better known as Black Wood) is a rival in the Kirarin Revolution anime series. He has dark gray hair and green eyes. Black Wood is voiced by Daisuke Kirii.

Personality[]
At first, Kuroki was arrogant and was always plotting to ruin Kira Pika's reputation, which he always failed. When Kira Pika disbands and Kirari and Hikaru become soloists, he tries to ruin Kirari's career. He forces Kirari to come to Black Wood, to which she refuses. However, when his power hungry actions of turning every where black to advertise Black Wood, Kirari is forced to go there because at least it means that she could keep her friends safe. When she reluctantly agrees to stay in Black Wood, Kuroki completely changes Kirari's personality into someone who never smiles. He keeps treating her harshly until he realizes that the Black Wood Festival was a success because of Kirari, not him. At last he realizes that Kirari has a strong personality of willing to sacrifice for her friends and take risks and lets her become her old self again.

Trivia[]
His surname contains the kanji for "black" (黒 kuro) and "wood, tree" (木 ki) which may be a direct translation of the name Black Wood or a reference to the company with the same name. His first name "Akira" translates to "morning sun" (旭).
