Mao (麻央?) is a rival in Kirarin Revolution. She is fourteen years old. Mao has violet hair (a few shades lighter than her twin sister's) and brown eyes. Mao is voiced by Miwako Suguro.

Mao has a twin sister named Mio. Because they are identical twins, they are very popular models for STUDIO BLACK WOOD. Kasumi says they "are the most popular, beautiful twin sisters models."

Mio (美央?) is Mao's identical twin. The two look almost alike, although Mio's bangs are to her left while Mao's bangs are to her right, and their hair color is slightly different colors of purple. Because they are twins, they get along very well and are able to finish each other's sentences.
Ending
In Episode 153, while Kirari is performing "Happy☆Happy Sunday!," the two are seen smiling together in the audience.
Name Origin
"Mao" comes from "ma," which means "real" or "true," while the "o" comes from either "thread," "center," or "cherry blossom."
