Tsukishima Subaru (月島すばる) is a minor character in Kirarin☆Revolution. He was born on December 25, and his zodiac sign is Capricorn. Subaru is Kirari's older brother. He has a cat named Mr. Na. He is voiced by Asanuma Shintaro.
Appearance[]
Subaru has short sandy hair with bangs and blue eyes, and looks very similar to his little sister, Kirari. He looks so much like Kirari that Arashi and Producer Muranishi once mistook him for Kirari.
History[]
Subaru has been raised by his father, Takashi, ever since he was little, so he doesn't know much about his mother, but doesn't mind. He lives in New York City, where he attends drama school and aspires to become a Hollywood actor.
When he came back to Japan after a long absence, he discovered that Kirari was an idol. Jealous of his sister's success, he pretended to be her and went on a talk show in her place. Kirari discovers this, goes to see him and after a chase, Kirari gets a bucket of frozen water and gets sick. Subaru offers to take Kirari's place. Once on stage, he realizes that he doesn't know the lyrics of the song.
In Episode 153, Subaru is seen with his mother, Luna, watching Milky Way perform "Tan Tan Taan!" on TV. This makes the audience believe that the two have met sometime after Luna left Japan. It is unknown whether or not Subaru succeeded in his goal to become an actor, but most likely he did because he is also working with the American actress Tina Garland.
Personality[]
Although having a narcissist personality, Subaru is shown to care a lot about his little sister, but gets jealous of her when he discovers she is more successful and famous than him.
Relationships[]
Tsukishima Kirari (月島きらり) is Subaru's little sister. They look very similar, so much so, Subaru convinced everybody he was Kirari when he was disguised as her.
Tsukishima Takashi (月島 天) is Subaru's father. Both of them seem to care about each other and love each other as father and son, but not much is known about their relationship.
Tsukishima Luna (月島ルナ) is Subaru's mother. When he and Kirari were little, Luna left them to pursue her dreams as an actress. Years later, Luna returns to Japan as a successful actress, but doesn't go home right away. Although the two don't meet up there, it is assumed in the final episode that Subaru and his mother reunited.
Etymology[]
"Tsukishima" means "moon island," which could refer to his mother's first name. "Subaru" is the Japanese name for the Pleiades star cluster.
